Tradewind are currently working closely with an alternative provision in Bedford who are looking for their next super star support assistant to join them in January 2025.

This is a unique opportunity to join a school which caters for children at risk of exclusion, have been permanently excluded or have additional needs including ASD. The school provides a unique learning blend between the national curriculum and offering their own creative curriculum which includes subjects like DJing, Horse riding and swimming.

You will be working with children with challenging behaviour on a 1-1 basis throughout the day. You will need to be able to draw from a range of different behaviour management techniques to keep disruption to a minimum.

Prior experience working with children with additional needs is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a strong rapport with students
  • Maintain strong levels of behaviour management by utilising different techniques
  • Feedback to parents and outside agencies as and when necessary
  • Bring learning to life by thinking outside the box

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with children with SEN is essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for supporting students with diverse educational needs.
