Dunbar Education is thrilled to offer a rewarding opportunity for dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a primary school in Bedford.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the development and delivery of tailored learning plans
  • Supporting individual and small group work, focusing on specific SEN needs
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement through personalized strategies
  • Aiding in classroom management and organization to facilitate an inclusive learning environment
  • Providing pastoral care and emotional support to pupils with SEN
  • Collaborating with teachers and SEN coordinators to monitor and assess pupils’ progress

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to varying needs
  • A proactive and positive attitude
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 SEN or equivalent) are desirable but not required
