PROJECT MANAGER

This project Manager role will be to support the laboratory team to deliver client requirements and to liaise over any technical issues that may arise through the course of the study. You’ll be working with a broad range of customers across agri/chemical/environmental sector who are often needing non-routine testing requiring novel analytical or physical testing.

Working as part of the management team on-site and working closely with lab colleagues and the end customer; your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Management of multiple live and planned studies. This will include scoping out the project, setting of realistic timescales and deliverables
  • Proactive client engagement to full communicate operational progress/issues and timescales
  • Arrange and chair customer meetings to discuss progress; deal with queries/challenges
  • Work closely with the lab team to relay client requirements and expectations, updates and in-progress project reviews and amendments
  • Record all communications on internal CRM and project deliver/management systems & software
  • You’ll also work with commercial teams to help secure new business and future/repeat business
  • Ultimately you’ll be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction; anticipating where projects may be falling short of client requirements and expectations and identifying remedial actions overcome shortcomings

This role would suit applicants with the following skills and experiences:

  • Proven experience in project driven laboratory environment or commercial roles delivering scientific projects to customers
  • Good understanding of chemistry laboratory terminology and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of lab procedures, able to identify with workflows and timescales
  • Excellent communication skills, able to disseminate technical detail in a clear and concise way with all stakeholders
  • Empathetic to customer stakeholder needs
  • Analytical and able to analyse and query large datasets
  • Proactive, solution orientated with a positive outlook; always looking to solve a problem or overcome a challenge
  • Degree qualified, ideally in Chemistry or related
  • Proven experience in a technical customer facing role
  • Previous project management experience
  • Project management qualifications would be advantageous
