My client is one of the UK's largest and most trusted veterinary supplies retailers, outgrowing three warehouses before recently moving to Bedford, Bedfordshire.

Experience
At least 2-5 years experience as an experienced Buyer
Strong commercial experience with proven track record of delivery of budgets and ability to manage multiple KPIs at once
Strong negotiation skills
Be able to analyse complex sets of data
Self-motivated, organised with excellent communications skills both verbal and written
Highly organised, work well under pressure and to achieve targets and deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proactive and able to use your initiative
Able to manage a varied workload, conflicting deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in using retail software and advanced Microsoft Office Suite.
Pet or Online Retail experience a distinct advantage
Responsibilities
Ensuring key performance metrics relating to the overall category performance are measured closely and achieved. These metrics include sales, margin performance
Manage supplier performance, identifying potential new suppliers, and support to build long term supplier relationships
Analysis data to understand performance and opportunities
Conduct regular market and pricing reviews
Negotiate with suppliers to agree and deliver joint business plans for your areas
Work with the supply Chain team to ensure we have best-in-class availability, and helping get our products to our customers on time
Working in collaboration with cross functional team to define and execute a successful category strategy for the buying area
Hours:
Full-time - 37.5 hours per week
Permanent contract
Hours: Monday Friday
Hybrid working pattern during the settling in period 2-3 in the office, moving to 1-2 days per week in the office.
