Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Bedford

Job Overview:We are actively seeking a caring and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic school community in Bedford, starting in October 2024. In this role, you will be crucial in supporting students with diverse special educational needs, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance necessary for academic and emotional success.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Provide individualised and small group support for students with SEN, adjusting teaching techniques to suit different learning needs.
  • Assist teachers in implementing specialised education plans that cater to each student's unique requirements.
  • Help foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel encouraged and supported.
  • Collaborate closely with SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) and other staff to create and apply personalised learning objectives and interventions.
  • Track student progress and behaviour, giving feedback to teachers and caregivers as needed.
  • Support the use of sensory integration and therapeutic techniques as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for helping students with special educational needs develop academically and socially.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with students, staff, and caregivers.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when handling challenging situations.
  • DBS on the Update Service
