Key Responsibilities of a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-on-one or group support to SEN pupils, tailoring learning materials to their needs.
- Assist the class teacher in ensuring an inclusive and engaging classroom.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other specialists to implement individualized education plans.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and engagement of all students.
- Support pupils during lessons, break times, and other school activities.
- Help prepare resources and materials to enhance learning experiences.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a calm, adaptable approach to meeting children's varied needs.
- Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3) are a plus but not essential.
- Flexibility to adapt to different learning challenges.
- Local Commute to Bedford
- Holds a full driving license
