Lecturer – Electrical Installation

Reed further education is supporting a Prestigious college in Bedford as a Lecturer in Electrical Installation. This role offers the opportunity to shape the futures of our students by delivering high-quality education in Electrical Installation. You will be responsible for preparing, delivering, assessing, and verifying a range of courses, supporting students to achieve success, and contributing to curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.

  • Location: Bedford 
  • Job Type: part time, 12 hours per week

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Teach effectively on a range of programmes and levels, tailoring your approach to meet individual student needs.
  • Prepare comprehensive schemes of work that meet the requirements of awarding bodies.
  • Develop and implement engaging learning materials across various media to enhance student learning.
  • Assess and verify student work to ensure it meets awarding body standards.
  • Monitor student progress, ensuring they meet required standards and deadlines.
  • Conduct individual and group tutorials to support students in realizing their potential.
  • Maintain accurate records on students’ progress and performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 NVQ qualification in Electrical Installation (2357/5357 or equivalent).
  • AM2/AM2S completion or equivalent.
  • GCSE Maths and English grade A-C or equivalent.
  • Experience in the UK Electrotechnical industry or in teaching and assessing various programmes.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Desirable: Certificate in Education (e.g., CertEd/PGCE), Assessor and Verifier Awards.
