Professional Technical are currently working with an established Electric Vehicle start-up based in the Nuneaton area. We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their fast-growing team. If you are an individual who would like to contribute to vehicle sustainability and reducing the pollution on our roads. Our client have expanded their sales world-wide into the U.S and across Europe.

We are seeking individuals who are familiar with using CREO, have at least 5 years engineering experience and are comfortable with the operations of engineering machinery and following processes to assist with project completion. Our client are offering an attractive salary up to £55k, flexible hybrid working, 23 days holidays + bank holidays, equity options and more.

Job Profile:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for the following:

  • Development and refinement of 3D CAD drawings
  • Development on new and existing designs on a variation of components
  • Design of batteries and electrical vehicle systems
  • Design for assembly and design for manufacture, material selection and bills of materials
  • Adhering to tight deadlines, costing and quality specifications
  • Working directly with vendors and manufacturers

Job Requirements:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will require the following:

  • Degree qualified in relevant Engineering (Meng or BEng); Mechanical Engineering, Electric Vehicles etc.
  • Proficient user of CREO
  • Extensive experience in hands-on engineering; CNC's, lathes, mills, turning mills, power tools, welding etc.
  • Proven experience working with the design of batteries and electrical vehicle systems
  • Design experience within the Automotive / Material Handling setting is desirable
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
