We are happy to share that we have a position available for a Specialist Customer Service Advisor on the Welfare service. This position will be on a fixed term basis until the 31st March 2025.Job Title: Specialist Customer Service Advisor (Welfare)Duration: Temporary until March 2025 (could be ongoing)Company: Warwickshire County CouncilHours: Monday to Friday - 37 hours a week, 09:00 - 17:00 (16:30 finish on a Friday)Location: Remote (Once a month at the office in Bedworth)Salary: £14.36 per hourStart Date: 16th December 2024What does the job entail?Their purpose is to provide a high-quality and responsive service, including the provision of accurate information and advice, signposting and initial problem-solving at the first point of contact. They provide county-wide local welfare provision that supports the most vulnerable residents at times of unavoidable crisis when they have no other means of help. You will be working as part of a team as the single point of contact for requests for support, information and advice and services from within the Council and other agencies.What we are looking for
  • You need to have exceptional communication skills. You will be able to adapt to the person you are speaking to, so they feel listened to and supported. Your maturity and resilience will help you deal with the varying emotions that people may display.
  • You will need to be able to evaluate a situation to identify potential risks and recognise when to seek advice. As a caring person you will strive to help people in need.
  • Your natural sense of curiosity will drive you to learn more about the diverse ways people can be supported to improve their lives. Your problem-solving skills will be put to good use due to the varied nature of the work.
  • You will be able to work independently to a high standard, using multiple systems simultaneously, including knowledge of Firmstep, Five9 and Microsoft applications, in order to contribute productively to the team.
  • You also need to have the confidence to ask for help if you need it. Someone is always available to support you and recognising when you need appropriate support is a must.
