About the Role:

As a Junior Sprinkler Design Engineer, you will play an integral role in supporting a dynamic and growing team of established design professionals. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in the preparation and design of sprinkler systems for both residential and commercial projects. You will also be involved in ensuring clear and consistent communication with clients, including participating in site meetings when necessary, to ensure that project expectations are met efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will assist in the production of various technical documents, including detailed installation drawings, coordination models, and other essential materials necessary for the design and implementation of sprinkler systems. Your attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring that all documentation aligns with project specifications and quality standards.

  • As part of the design process, you will support on-site surveying efforts where needed. This may involve gathering key data, taking measurements, and ensuring that all relevant site-specific conditions are incorporated into the design process.

  • You will assist in the selection and specification of the appropriate equipment based on the established design criteria. This includes evaluating system requirements and ensuring that all chosen equipment meets the necessary performance standards and regulatory guidelines.

  • A significant aspect of your role will be assisting in the preparation of certification documents and operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals. You will ensure these documents are accurate and meet all necessary regulatory requirements.

  • You will support regular update and review meetings with clients to discuss project progress, address any concerns, and make adjustments where necessary. Your involvement in these meetings will be key in maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring their needs are met.

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • While a basic understanding of AutoCAD is preferred, you will have the opportunity to expand your skills in this area as part of your role, gaining proficiency in creating and modifying technical drawings.

  • A minimum of Level 2 qualifications, or an equivalent qualification, is essential for this role. This educational foundation will support your understanding of the engineering principles involved in sprinkler system design.

  • As part of your professional development, you will receive training on current sprinkler standards, including LPC, FM, and NFPA standards. This training will equip you with the knowledge required to ensure all designs comply with industry regulations and best practices.
