An independent Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is actively looking for a Structural Engineer with at least 4+ years' experience to join the company.

The company are a single-office company with almost 20 technical staff and a Structural team of 15. The company have a very strong client base in the educational and healthcare sectors and also have a dedicated team of Technicians to help support you on projects.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Structural Engineer:

  • Project Design
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Liaising with clients and a variety of professionals including Architects and Contractors
  • Developing and solving design problems
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Responsible for elements of Project Delivery
  • Responsible for elements of Project Quality Assurance
  • Contribute to Company Objectives by achieving individual KPIs as laid out by line manager.



Requirements of a Structural Engineer:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in related engineering or associated technical degree
  • Minimum 4+ years relevant experience in a consultancy environment
  • Writing of engineering reports
  • Undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
  • Ability with specific computer software for developing detailed designs.
  • Undertaking and understanding complex calculations
  • Knowledge of legal requirements
  • Experience of project Health and safety requirements
  • Experience of the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
  • Experience of wider project issues
