IT Infrastructure Engineer – Newtownards – Permanent - £33,000 per annum

REED Technology are delighted to partner with an excellent charitable organisation who are seeking to add an IT Infrastructure Engineer to their team.

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our IT services, with a special focus on Microsoft on-premises infrastructure, VMware administration, Microsoft 365 migration, Veeam backup solutions, and storage technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • To align IT infrastructure strategy with organizational goals to drive business outcomes.
  • To lead infrastructure projects that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations.
  • To collaborate with various departments to understand and meet their IT infrastructure needs
  • To design, implement and maintain robust and scalable IT infrastructure solutions.
  • To ensure the reliability an IT security of all infrastructure components.
  • To conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • To lead infrastructure upgrade projects, including hardware and software updates.
  • To collaborate with all IT colleagues to reinforce infrastructure security.
  • To stay abreast of technological advancements and integrate them into our infrastructure where beneficial.
  • To execute all patch management, backups and routine maintenance procedures.
  • To supervise and mentor the IT Support Engineer/s.
  • To delegate tasks and manage project timelines effectively.
  • To ensure good communications and a collaborative approach to work with IT team, other departments and various stakeholders.
  • To create project plans, manage resource allocation and risk.
  • To co-ordinate with vendors and external partners.
  • To prepare and present progress reports to senior management.
  • To inform and implement IT policies and strategies.

Essential Criteria

  • Foundation degree of higher in a related field
  • Proved experience in IT infrastructure roles focusing on Microsoft, VMware and Cisco Meraki technologies
  • Proven experience in planning and executing migrations to Microsoft 365 (including Office 365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Intune).
  • Experience in using Veeam for backup, replication, and recovery tasks
