We are currently working with a global financial institution to recruit an AVP in Business risk. This role will be part of the 1st Line of Defence (1LOD) Markets Controls Testing team, responsible for executing a comprehensive, risk-based control testing programme across all Markets businesses globally. This role supports management in continuously monitoring the control framework and residual risk profiles, ensuring responsible financial services provision and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute controls design and operating effectiveness testing to agreed timelines, escalating and resolving obstacles to delivery.
  • Maintain high standards and best practices for execution of testing activities and associated documentation.
  • Challenge stakeholders on the design and effectiveness of controls.
  • Support stakeholders in determining necessary control remediation identified through the testing programme.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Front Office, Markets Conduct Risk, Compliance, and Operational Risk.
  • Draft impactful summary outputs from the testing programme.


Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Knowledge of Markets Sales and Trading activities, risks, and related controls.
  • Strong understanding of control design assessment and effectiveness testing techniques.
  • Experience in Front Office controls testing, internal audit, external audit/control consulting, or similar disciplines.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining effective senior stakeholder relationships.


This role will be hybrid with 3 days working from the office in Belfast. Although the role is initially for a 12-month period there is a high possibility of extension.
