Mental Health and Wellbeing Worker

Reed Health and Care are recruiting for a Mental Health & Wellbeing Worker for our client based in Belfast. You will be working with a dedicated team providing mental health support and mentoring to children and young people aged 16-25. As a Wellbeing Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals who experience low mood, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by building resilience, increasing coping strategies, and developing support networks among young people.

You must hold a current driving licence and have access to a care to be considered for this position.

Duties Include:

  •  Keep accurate and up-to-date records including support plans, safety plans, and contact records in compliance with GDPR guidelines.
  • Adhering to the NISCC Code of Conduct
  • Providing both one-on-one and group support to manage mental health, prioritising young people on the waiting list and offering regular telephone support.
  • Work effectively within a team, ensuring information is communicated with young people and external agencies such as mental health services and social services.
  • Being proactive in-service development
  • Advocate for young people to ensure their voices are heard.
  • Engaging in reflection, personal and professional development both personally and as part of a team

Requirements:

  • Proven background in supporting young people, particularly in mental health or related fields.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with GDPR, child protection laws, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Resilient, compassionate, and committed to the development and wellbeing of young people.
  • Experience in liaising with a variety of agencies
  • Experience in delivering group work.
  • Full Driving Licence with access to a car.
