MTC Quantity Surveyor

We are currently seeking an MTC Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK’s leading FM and Asset Management companies. This role involves direct support for one of the Water Supply Companies, requiring a professional with strong experience in managing cost elements of construction projects, reactive maintenance, and minor works.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare sales backup information for sales invoices based on job cost analysis, collaborating closely with the operations delivery team.
  • Handle sales backup queries from clients in conjunction with the finance department.
  • Produce detailed monthly work in progress estimates of accrued revenue and cost liabilities, working closely with site teams and the finance department.
  • Produce account measurements for POA’s and Final Accounts based on measurements from the National Schedule of Rates.
  • Process daywork applications for payment.
  • Provide budget costs for reactive works and projects as required.
  • Produce accurate measurements and detailed target costs for Target Cost jobs.
  • Work within an open book arrangement, providing backup and reporting to client representatives.
  • Measure project quantities from drawings & specifications.
  • Prepare and submit Variations / Compensation Events as required.
  • Ensure timely completion of the monthly contract WIP report, identify problem areas and trends, report on any monthly movements and substantiate gains/deficits on each activity code.
  • Regularly review contract cost ledger, identify and amend any ambiguities regarding invoices and activity coding.
  • Establish and report on forecast final costs and forecast final recovery for each project under your commercial control.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management, or a HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying (including a commercial placement), or a minimum of three years’ experience managing cost elements of construction projects, reactive maintenance, and minor works.
  • Demonstrated experience working on MTC contracts, particularly with the NSR Schedules.
  • Proven experience in a QS role including account billing and calculating work in progress.
  • Full UK Driver’s license.
