My client is looking for an experienced HGV mechanic who is happy working permanent nights. Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to provide first class customer care and possess extensive vehicle knowledge. My client is industry leading in their sector and due to workload are looking to add HGV Technician to their engineering team.

HGV Technician - Nights

Location: Belvedere (Kent)

£46,000 - £51,000 basic salary with nights allowance plus any overtime.

22 days holiday pus Bank Holidays. Life Insurance, medical support scheme and company pension scheme.

Shifts can be 4 nights of 11 hours or 5 nights of 9 hours with no weekends.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Troubleshooting and identifying issues.
  • Carry out a range of inspections -MOT, tacho.
  • Provide support and daily mentoring to less experience technicians.
  • Documenting issues correctly.
  • Work independently to maintain and repair vehicles and components.
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure that all work is complete to a high standard.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety regulations are met.
  • Carry out final checks on work that has been completed.

To apply you MUST have or hold:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualifications or a minimum of 5 year’ experience.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Broad vehicle related technical knowledge.
  • Extensive experience in carrying out repairs and maintenance on trucks, components and vehicles.
  • Positive attitude
  • Good communication skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work nights (shift lengths to be discussed)

You must be able to provide your own tool kit and be in possession of a valid driving licence, HGV preferable but not essential.
