Senior Accountant

A Local Authority in East Yorkshire are looking to appoint a Senior Accountant on an Interim basis. Spencer Clarke Group are working with the client to find the successful candidate.

What's on offer:

  • Rates: £300-£400 per day, inside IR35.

About the role:

Our client are looking for someone with strong accounting knowledge, who can interpret and analyse complex data along with a robust understanding of financial processes and procedures.

Based in Yorkshire (Hybrid):

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the provision of financial support and guidance to Assistant Directors and their staff to ensure statutory requirements for financial management and accountability are met.
  • Provides broad strategic financial management leadership, direction and advice to Assistant Directors to significantly influence the Council's achievement of its strategic objectives.
  • undertake financial modelling, build budgets and monitor forecast, all of which are required within the role to provide support, advice and guidance to Council services.

About you:You will have the following experience:

  • CCAB qualified or equivalent
  • Ability to plan, manage and deliver complex projects.
  • Appreciation of wider/strategic including government policy and legislation affect local government.
