Job Title: Highway Engineer

Salary: £35,235 - £37,035 per annum

Ideally you will:
- Have expertise in highway construction and maintenance
- Have knowledge of contract and project management techniques, including cost and quality control
- Be proficient in relevant computer software, including autocad and key systems
- Have a strong understanding of national and local standards including standards for highways (sfh) and legislation including the highways act and cdm regulations
- Possess excellent communication skills and be able to provide technical knowledge and recommendations on complex highway engineering problems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering exceptional highway engineering projects whilst overseeing and supervising contractors work to ensure quality, cost and time requirements are met
- Monitoring project costs and financial information to maintain financial oversight
- Preparing drawings, designs and contract documents to support the delivery of various highway engineering projects and applying technical methods and expertise to ensure effective execution, whilst analysing challenges and identifying practical solutions
- Conducting public consultations, liaising with internal colleagues and external bodies, community members and other stakeholders to gather information, address complaints and respond to enquiries.
