We are seeking a highly experienced Payroll Manager to join our client on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a strategic position, providing statutory leave cover while managing a team of six payroll professionals. The successful candidate will oversee the efficient delivery of payroll services to a diverse range of international clients across the UK, Germany, Spain, and the Channel Islands. The role also offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of advanced payroll systems as part of our ongoing business expansion and transformation.

This position reports directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer.

As Payroll Manager, you will be a vital member of the Corporate Services senior leadership team, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for our international clients. In addition to maintaining payroll accuracy, you will contribute to the implementation and optimisation of a new payroll system designed to enhance service delivery and integrate the latest technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the completion of weekly and monthly payroll cycles as assigned by the CFO, maintaining high accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly tax and social security reports for all relevant countries.
  • Generate necessary reports for Commercial Managers and Management Accountants, including quarterly payroll summaries and issue reports.
  • Prepare End of Year returns, including P60s, P11Ds, or international equivalents.
  • Keep up to date with payroll systems, processes, and legislation through ongoing training, and ensure team members are trained accordingly.
  • Lead and manage the payroll team, driving efficiency and ensuring coverage during absences such as holidays and sickness.
  • Support the development and growth of team members, enhancing their technical skills and qualifications.
  • Assist with the implementation of new payroll systems, contributing to process improvements and enhancing system functionalities.
