As the Head of Subject, you will have the opportunity to work in great facilities,teach a diverse student body, and collaborate with other departments to instil a love of science intoour students. The department is dedicated to providing students with a rigorous and engaging education that prepares them for success in any scientific field they choose to pursue.
THE JOB
- To lead and actively contribute to the Teaching of Science across all age and ability ranges
- To lead your team with confidence, clarity, and guidance so that they are well supported
- To develop all aspects of the curriculum
- To secure the quality of teaching in the department across all stages
- To provide high quality leadership of your department, through line management and appraisal,enabling Teachers to fulfil their responsibilities and deliver high quality lessons
- To generate an enthusiasm around the subject that results in Science developing a high profile within the school and in our enrichment programme.
THE CANDIDATE
- QTS in a science discipline
- Able to Teacher Science to KS5 (Biology, Chemistry & Physics)
- Specialism in Chemistry or Physics
- Experience in planning delivering and assessing engaging and challenging lessons of varying ability
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student participation and achievement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Science curriculum.
- UK Right to work
- DBS on Update Service or willingness to complete one if successful
- 2 work related references will need to be provided
