As the Head of Subject, you will have the opportunity to work in great facilities,teach a diverse student body, and collaborate with other departments to instil a love of science intoour students. The department is dedicated to providing students with a rigorous and engaging education that prepares them for success in any scientific field they choose to pursue.

THE JOB

  • To lead and actively contribute to the Teaching of Science across all age and ability ranges
  • To lead your team with confidence, clarity, and guidance so that they are well supported
  • To develop all aspects of the curriculum
  • To secure the quality of teaching in the department across all stages
  • To provide high quality leadership of your department, through line management and appraisal,enabling Teachers to fulfil their responsibilities and deliver high quality lessons
  • To generate an enthusiasm around the subject that results in Science developing a high profile within the school and in our enrichment programme.

THE CANDIDATE

  • QTS in a science discipline
  • Able to Teacher Science to KS5 (Biology, Chemistry & Physics)
  • Specialism in Chemistry or Physics
  • Experience in planning delivering and assessing engaging and challenging lessons of varying ability
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student participation and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Science curriculum.
  • UK Right to work
  • DBS on Update Service or willingness to complete one if successful
  • 2 work related references will need to be provided
