Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Start Date: Immediate Start
Pay scale: £27,657 - £30,095 per annum
Our Greenwich Primary School is seeking an experienced and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a thriving mainstream primary school in Greenwich, Thamesmead. This role involves supporting the academic and personal development of students across the primary school, as well as covering classes when required.
The school is looking for a candidate with a proven background as an HLTA who can contribute to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with students individually and in small groups to support academic and personal needs
- Cover classes as required, delivering lessons prepared by the class teacher
- Provide targeted support to students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Assist with planning and delivering interventions to support academic progress and individual development
- Work closely with teachers and SENCo to ensure all students are supported effectively
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
Candidate Criteria:
- Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in a primary school setting
- Great understanding of the primary school curriculum.
- Relevant qualifications, such as HLTA certification, are desirable
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students effectively
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
Additional Information:
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday (no weekends)
- Based in Greenwich, with excellent public transport connections
