Join the Finance & Corporate Services team at a local authority as a Customer Service Advisor and make a real difference!

As a pivotal member of the team, you will be the first point of contact within the Council's Contact Centre, providing essential advice and information on Council Services. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a customer-centred environment and enjoys resolving enquiries with a smile.

  • Engagement: Act as the first point of contact for the Council, handling enquiries via telephone, email, face-to-face, and the Council’s website.
  • Service Excellence: Provide responsive and courteous service to service users, aiming to resolve enquiries at the first point of contact.
  • Efficiency: Maintain and update records on the CRM system as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with back-office teams and service providers to fulfil customer requests and resolve complex service coordination issues.
  • Knowledge: Keep updated with organisational changes within the Council to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Innovation: Assist in the implementation and development of new services within the Contact Centre.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3 GCSEs including English or a relevant vocational qualification equivalent to NVQ level II in Customer Care.
  • Experience in a customer-centred environment, preferably within local authorities.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and other ICT systems such as MS Office and databases.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to organise and prioritise work effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge of local authority operations and services is highly advantageous.

This is a temporary opportunity initially estimated until end of Jan'25.
