Rikama Education are seeking a dedicated and patient individual to provide one-on-one support to a Year 12 student on school site. The primary focus of this role is to assist the student in developing self-regulation skills that will enable them to thrive in a school environment. This is a temporary position lasting for the duration of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with the student, teachers, and CAMHs to implement a personalised Safety Plan.

  • Implement strategies within the plan to support the student in managing emotions and behaviour, maintaining focus, and completing tasks in the classroom.
  • Discreetly provide in-the-moment support to the student during class time as needed.
  • Document progress and collaborate with the team to adjust the plan as needed.
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging relationship with the student.
  • Uphold the school's professional code of conduct and confidentiality policies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with vulnerable adolescents in an educational or support setting.
  • Strong understanding of self-regulation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with vulnerable students.
  • Calm and patient demeanor with a positive and encouraging attitude.
  • Strong sense of professionalism, responsibility and confidentiality.
  • Ability to observe and document behaviours accurately.

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: 12.83-14.62 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Bexleyheath: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

  • SEN: 1 year (preferred)
