Role Overview:

As a client manager at Our Client, you will manage a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services. You will be the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met efficiently. This role combines technical accounting work with client relationship management, providing a fulfilling and varied workload. You will be assisted in completing your clients statutory work by junior members of staff which you will play a role in managing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of small business clients, ensuring their accounting and tax needs are met.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts, tax returns, VAT returns, and management accounts.
  • Advise clients on tax planning, business strategies, and financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Provide exceptional client service, maintaining strong relationships and addressing client queries promptly.
  • Liaise with HMRC and other external bodies on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct client meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with the Our Client team to ensure clients receive a seamless service.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Accredited accounting qualifications, such as ACCA or ACA, are ideal but not required.
  • Previous experience in a practice environment is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and tax regulations in the UK.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a portfolio of clients.
  • Competent in cloud accounting software (QuickBooks etc.).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proactive, client-focused approach with the ability to identify opportunities for clients.
