Occupational Health Advisor – Police Force Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting for an Occupational Health Advisor to provide expert health and wellbeing support within a UK Police Force. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with Occupational Health experience to contribute to the fitness, safety, and wellbeing of officers and staff.Rate:£22.92 per hourContract: Full-timeKey Responsibilities:
  • Provide an Occupational Health Advisory Service, triaging management referrals and determining appropriate assessments (face-to-face, phone, mental health support, etc.).
  • Assess fitness for role in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Health & Safety Regulations, and police-specific guidelines.
  • Conduct health assessments for staff and officers, advising on adjustments and attending Adjusted Duties Categorisation Meetings.
  • Oversee pre-placement health screening for new officers, transferees, PCSOs, and volunteers.
  • Deliver medical consultancy on occupational health issues, infectious diseases, and health promotion.
  • Administer vaccinations and blood samples in line with Patient Group Directives (PGD).
  • Assist in the development of occupational health policies and procedures.
  • Maintain continuous professional development (CPD) in line with NMC revalidation.
Essential Requirements:
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health Nursing.
  • Proven experience in an Occupational Health environment, with strong emotional and psychological resilience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with officers, HR, and senior management.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to different locations as required.
