Maintenance Engineer

Equation Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an employer based in Bicester for a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and respected food manufacturing operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineering professional with mechanical and electrical expertise to join a company that values quality, innovation, and team collaboration.

In this role, you will:

  • * Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks and complete associated documentation.
  • * Carry out mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance on site equipment and facilities.
  • * Minimise downtime by prioritising repairs and troubleshooting effectively.
  • * Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and food safety standards.
  • * Support induction and training of new staff on equipment use and safety procedures.
  • * Liaise with equipment suppliers and participate in commissioning new machinery.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • * A recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification in engineering.
  • * Proven experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • * Excellent understanding of Health & Safety practices.
  • * A proactive, logical approach to problem solving and teamwork.
  • * Flexibility to work out of hours and weekends when needed.

It would be a bonus if you also have:

  • * Experience working within the food manufacturing sector.
  • * 18th Edition Electrical certification.
  • * Familiarity with PLCs, inverters, and control systems.
