Acorn by Synergie are looking for a Vehicle Fitter to provide a vehicle maintenance and repair service for a fleet of approximately 45 - 50 vehicles.
Job Duties:
- To service specialist large goods fleet in line with the Vehicle Operating Standards Agency (VOSA) legislation
- To attend to vehicle breakdowns, to diagnose fault and to repair as necessary
- To prepare all vehicles ready to undergo MOT (Ministry of Transport) inspection, this can include fitting new parts, welding, steam cleaning, fault repair, minor bodywork repair
- To record repairs and maintenance to all vehicles on an official form (provided by outside body) and to maintain accurate records to each vehicle for the life of that vehicle
- To keep clean, at all times, the vehicle workshop area complying with Health and Safety legislation
Person Specification:
- Qualified to Motor Vehicle Level 2, ie City & Guilds
- Must have a full UK HGV driving licence
- Completion of 35 hours Drivers CPC Training
- At least 7 years in a HGV mechanical repair & maintenance role
- An understanding of HGV vehicles servicing/MOT preparation
