The pastry department, ata prestigious hotel located on the coast in the Kingsbridge area of Devon, requires a Head Pastry Chef and also a Sous Pastry Chef. This location is a beautiful place to live and work. In your spare time you could be paddle boarding, swimming, kayaking or just enjoying this coastal area.

Shared live in available.

This property can also accept a couple or friends, for other job roles such as Food & Beverage Assistant / Housekeeper / Chef de Partie / Receptionist / Kitchen Porter / Bar roles.


We are looking for a PASTRY Head Chef and Sous Pastry Chef with fine dining experience. You will be working with some of the finest locally sourced ingredients to produce the spectacular fine dining menu.

Example of RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare dishes to the highest standards of quality, safety and consistency

Ensure recipes are followed to ensure risk of cross contamination are kept to a minimum

Ensure brand standards are followed to ensure consistency of quality

Work as part of a team in preparation, cooking, garnishing, or presentation of food

Follow standards and regulations relating with cleanliness, hygiene and safety

Ensure chef is informed where food or other supplies need to be ordered

Check the quantity and quality of received products

Work with head chef to ensure departmental compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g. COSHH, HAACP, Fire & Food Hygiene)

Ensure head chef is notified of equipment malfunctions and breakdowns

GENERAL info:

To follow Hotels procedures should staff require to exit the building for any reason

To ensure staff do not enter any unauthorised areas

To feed back any matters of concern as soon as possible to the Hotel Manager

To comply with all relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards

Live in available, subject to availability

Fine dining experience essential

Rosette experience is preferred

The salary for the opportunities within Pastry as Sous and Head Pastry are given as from 35,000 to 40,000 + / per annum. In addition, a share of the monthly tips.Shared Live in is available according to availability, if you are looking to relocate. Transport would be advantageous if you live in the local area.
