Platinum Recruitment is working in partnership with a unique, luxury hotel in South Devon and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Sous Chef with fine dining experience to support their Executive Chef, serving diners with an award winning, fine dining experience between multiple restaurants.

Our client is a quirky, art deco style luxury hotel in South Devon, situated on its own private tidal island. Accessible via a sea tractor when the tide is in, this beautiful property has a fantastic reputation, breath taking views and is steeped in history and stories.

Serving award-winning food where ingredients are all sourced in Devon, diners are treated to a choice 2 fine dining restaurants; a formal main restaurant or a more relaxed seafood restaurant.

What's involved?

As a Sous Chef here, you will have previous fine dining experience and have a real passion for using spectacular high quality, local ingredients. You will have the drive and determination to constantly be wanting to achieve more for both yourself and the team, really putting the hotel on the map.

You will support the Executive Chef with the general day to day running of the kitchen, as well as leading the kitchen team in their absence. Providing guidance to junior kitchen staff members, you will assist with the supervising of the kitchen team whilst also being firmly involved in the preparation, cooking and plating of high quality dishes between both of the hotel restaurants - always ensuring consistent high standards. You wiill have a keen eye for detail in the food you're creating and will be able to keep calm under pressure.

You will work with the Executive Chef to maintain kitchen organisation and training of kitchen staff members, as well as assisting with menu creation.

Previous high end fine dining experience is required for this role as well as a background of preparing and cooking fresh ingredients.

Please note: due to its remote location, this role may be more suited to someone with their own transport, as public transport in the area is limited.
