CAD Design Draughtsperson

We are working with a leading manufacturing company that has recently expanded into a brand-new facility in Biggleswade. The company is at the forefront of producing highly specialised products and is now looking to hire a skilled CAD Design Draughtsperson to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use SolidWorks 2021 and AutoCAD 2011 software to create detailed 2D/3D layouts, structures, and mechanisms for the company's specialised door products.
  • Produce precise and accurate technical drawings, ensuring designs align with project specifications and standards.
  • Focus on structural steelwork detailing with an understanding of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Collaborate with engineers and design teams to innovate and develop effective design solutions.
  • Interpret and work from architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing methods, and machining processes to enhance design quality.
  • Ensure all designs meet deadlines, maintaining high organisational and detail-oriented standards.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD modelling software, particularly SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Solid experience in structural steelwork detailing with some mechanical/electrical knowledge.
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing, and machining processes.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in MS Windows and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
