- Financial Data Analysis: Proficient in analysing financial data to identify trends, variances, and insights that support business decision-making.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Strong ability at using Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modelling.
- Management Accounting: In-depth knowledge of management accounting principles, including the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Risk Management: Advanced skills in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating financial and operational risks, ensuring the company is well-prepared for future challenges.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders, leadership, and external partners, ensuring financial insights are integrated into broader business strategy.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for identifying issues and developing effective, data-driven solutions.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and team development skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a finance team.
- Change Management: Ability to lead and influence change within the finance function, driving adoption of new technologies, processes, and systems that enhance business performance and financial operations.
What you'll need to succeed
- Professional Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with significant post-qualification experience.
- Experience: Significant experience in financial management, particularly in SMEs or companies with revenues exceeding £50m.
- Industry: Experience within a relevant industry, such as construction or project-based businesses, is desirable but not essential.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 & Power BI: Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for financial management and reporting, and experience in using Power BI for data visualisation and reporting.
