They have been established for almost 100 years and have ambitious growth plans for their offices across the country. They now require a Intermediate Building Services (Mechanical) Engineer to join them on a full-time permanent basis in their Billericay office.

Intermediate Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: 45k - 52k (Guide only - DOE)
  • Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays, increasing with service and including a Christmas shutdown.

Intermediate Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) Job Overview

  • Work with the Engineering Associate/Director on a regular basis, reporting weekly on progress.
  • Ensure all projects are completed to a high technical standard, on time and on budget.
  • Carry out fee earning work, getting involved in design of schemes where appropriate and particularly where high-level technical expertise is required.
  • Undertake feasibility studies as required.
  • Meet with clients to establish project brief and budget costs for client consideration.
  • Draw up detailed specifications and drawings against client's briefs.
  • Review tenders received and prepare tender reports and recommendations.
  • Project manage site works from commencement to completion.
  • Monitor site works against specification requirements and agree contractor's final accounts.
  • Carry out inspections of existing installations and submit condition reports.
  • Check and prepare information for fee Invoicing each month.
  • Manage day to day workload of individuals reporting directly to you, ensuring clarity of their roles, motivation of the team and wellbeing of individuals.
  • Advise director and partners on resources required, assisting at interview stage.
  • Develop the client base of the Practice by being proactive in pursuing marketing opportunities that arise and to pursue marketing initiatives as directed.

Intermediate Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) Job Requirements

  • Experienced using Amtech (Electrical) or IES (Mechanical) software.
  • Experienced using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Familiar with relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations and best practice and environmentally sensitive.
  • Degree/Master's degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and/or The IET (or equivalents).
