Compliance Team Leader

Hybrid working, 3:2 in the office

Permanent | Salary up to £40k + benefits

High growth business powered by technology with fantastic green credentials is looking for a Compliance Team Leader to join their growing business.

Located in Billericay, this is a hybrid role requiring 3 days on site, ideally Tuesday to Thursday, but some flexibility can be offered here.

About the role

The team ensures all suppliers are onboarded and all compliance documentation is uploaded and coded within the platform. They also monitor ongoing updates to the same, where there are renewals on the documentation. Finally they are continually improving process and practice which impacts positively business performance.

Responsible for:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 2-4 Compliance Coordinators.
  • Become a 'super user’ of the business’ recently implemented compliance application.
  • Coordinate Modern Day Slavery activities, working across multi-functional teams to ensure compliance with all associated policies and processes.
  • Manage info requests and resolve queries promptly.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance business processes, reduce manual touchpoints and optimise workflow.
  • Manage a set of defined business Key Performance Indicators.
  • Deliver clear and concise stakeholder communication to drive improvement and compliance awareness.
  • Ensure all security vetting requirements are delivered to each client’s specification.
  • Ensure suppliers have verified Right to Work documentation for all workers on site and and uploaded all documentation.
  • Ensure all business mandatory compliance requirements are met.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all necessary onboarding paperwork.
  • Act as an advocate for change within the compliance process, constantly seeking ways to improve and make it more inclusive.
  • Ensure use of CRM system for all compliance projects

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in staff onboarding / supplier onboarding / identity verification for new suppliers or employees - this could be from a recruitment agency that places a lot of agency staff, construction, engineering, or housing association where there is a large field team delivering services.
  • Proven experience managing the process around compliance management or related field.
  • Previous people and a team leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Able to be business facing to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Modern Day Slavery would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience in process improvement and optimisation is desirable.
