Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location:Billericay, Essex (4 days per week in the office)

Sector: Building Consultancy

Salary: Up to £60,000 (DOE) + attractive benefits package

WRG are supporting an independent building consultancy who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team, based from our clients offices in Billericay, Essex.

The business focuses primarily on the education and healthcare sectors and have been appointed on several longterm frameworks with various school and hospital trusts. Our client has been established for 5 years and have very ambitious plans for the future and growth of the overall organisation.

The role would suit a quantity surveying or cost consultant who is looking to take the next step in their career and join a dynamic and collaborative team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage cost estimation, cost planning, and cost control for multiple projects.
  • Prepare and manage tender documentation, contracts, and budgets.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients regarding procurement options and cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and prepare reports on project costs.
  • Monitor project progress, assess variations, and manage change control processes.
  • Oversee and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure the best possible prices and terms.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to cost management and procurement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a track record in managing projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail.
  • Experience in mentoring and leading teams.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach to delivering projects.
