We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, who is seeking a Waste Coordinator to join their operations in Billingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with strong waste management knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

As a Waste Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of waste services, ensuring compliance with industry standards and service level agreements. You will work closely with contractors, field teams, and management to maintain smooth operations while handling administrative tasks and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee waste service operations, including monitoring Helpdesk and CMMS data
  • Liaise with contractors and partners to ensure service delivery meets compliance and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate compliance documentation for audits and regulatory requirements
  • Plan and coordinate waste flows, ensuring efficient scheduling and adherence to SLAs
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding chemical waste transport/uplifts
  • Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate unforeseen circumstances
  • Conduct drum park reviews to ensure compliance

What We’re Looking For:

  • Essential Qualifications: WAMITAB Segregation Certificate & Dangerous Goods (ADR) Certificate
  • Strong Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritise tasks, manage schedules, and solve problems systematically
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise across various teams
  • IT Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and CMMS systems
  • Adaptability: A proactive and self-motivated individual who can handle changing priorities effectively
