The City of Wolverhampton Council is looking for a passionate Licencing Officer/Administrator to join their vibrant Private Hire Vehicle Licencing Department on a temporary ongoing contract . In this rewarding role, you'll play a key part in processing licencing applications, ensuring compliance, and delivering exceptional customer service while helping to enhance community safety and support service improvements.

We are recruiting for a Licencing Officer/Administrator to join our dynamic team within the Private Hire Vehicle Licencing Department at the City of Wolverhampton Council. This is your chance to make a significant impact in a role that is both rewarding and challenging!

Pay rate: £13.26 per hour

Location: Bilston

Hours: Full time (Mon-Fri 9 am to 5 pm)

What You'll Do:As a Licencing Officer/Administrator, you'll play a crucial role in:

  • Processing Private Hire Licencing Applications: Ensure all applications are handled efficiently and accurately.
  • Checking DBS Update Records: Maintain compliance and uphold safety standards.
  • Issuing Licences, Permits, and Registrations: Be the go-to person for all licencing needs!
  • Providing Exceptional Customer Service: Offer advice and information to the public, local businesses, and council officers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data entry and maintain updated spreadsheets.
  • Maintain accurate registers, records, and statistics using both manual and computer systems.
  • Answer telephone calls and handle inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Prepare standard letters and memoranda as needed.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as required.
  • Prepare and present reports to relevant officers and Members.
  • Be flexible with working hours; occasional duties outside normal office hours may be required.
  • Comply with all relevant policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations and data protection.
