Long Term Futures are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for a unique education setting in Nottingham (NG13). The setting provides bespoke education for children with complex trauma, mental health and attachment needs. As part of the specialist team, you will support students in a woodland and farm-based environment, applying a therapeutic approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored academic, emotional and behavioural support to students.
  • Develop positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement, self-confidence and social-emotional growth within a woodland and farm-based setting.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and the wider support team.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and review of individualised education plans.
  • Contribute to a trauma-sensitive environment where students feel supported and understood.
  • Promote a therapeutic approach in all interactions, helping students navigate their unique challenges.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH and complex needs.
  • A caring, empathetic, and patient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification in education or a related field is desirable but not essential.
