About the Role

Long Term Futures are working with a specialist education setting, located in central Nottingham (NG1) to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to students with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The role involves assisting with class activities, supporting individual students and contributing to a tailored learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team to support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • Provide 1-1 and small group support for students.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering education programmes.
  • Contribute to creating a caring, secure environment for students.
  • Assist in managing pupil behaviour and supporting social interaction.

Requirements:

  • A Teaching Assistant qualification or an education related qualification is desirable.
  • Experience working with children/young people with special educational needs is essential.
  • Understanding of autism and special educational needs.
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
