About the Role
Long Term Futures are working with a specialist education setting, located in central Nottingham (NG1) to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to students with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The role involves assisting with class activities, supporting individual students and contributing to a tailored learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team to support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Provide 1-1 and small group support for students.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering education programmes.
- Contribute to creating a caring, secure environment for students.
- Assist in managing pupil behaviour and supporting social interaction.
Requirements:
- A Teaching Assistant qualification or an education related qualification is desirable.
- Experience working with children/young people with special educational needs is essential.
- Understanding of autism and special educational needs.
- Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
