A distribution organisation, based in North-East Birmingham is looking for an accounting professional to join the finance department as it undergoes a period of growth. The successful candidate will be working in a finance team alongside colleagues in order to produce management accounts across numerous trading entities, in addition to carrying out daily and monthly tasks to provide financial support to the business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Cash book / bank reconciliations, incorporating issuing of manual one off payments where applicable via banking software
  • Accruals and prepayments and variance analysis between actual and plan
  • Completion and submission of numerous Head Office submissions providing details on areas such as stock, debtors, sales & margin
  • Producing a detailed PDF management information pack, incorporating supplementary schedules for sales, margin, stock, debtors, working capital and more
  • Plan workings file maintenance on a monthly basis to build up the relevant planning data
  • Mobile phone, Ipad and Vehicle fleet management incorporating commercial and motor vehicle fuel card management, fuel and lease invoice re-charging, insurance claims management, motor vehicle quotation and ordering for new / replacement vehicles, ad hoc vehicle inspections
  • Responsible for producing the annual detailed vehicle, profit & loss and balance sheet plans for relevant selling companies for review and approval
  • Completion of annual internal statutory accounts package for central group consolidation purposes
  • Payroll processing and variance analysis and assist with monthly submission of internal controls

Experience and Credentials:

  • Part qualified with one of the main accountancy bodies of CIMA, ACCA, ACA or AAT
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working within a management accounting environment
  • Intermediate to advanced level of excel knowledge
  • High level of numeracy and attention to detail
