Financial Accountant - Birmingham

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a dynamic and growing business in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure accurate and insightful financial information.

As Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, delivering financial statements, supporting audits, and managing month-end processes. You will work on balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and VAT & Corporation Tax returns, helping to drive accuracy and efficiency within the finance function. Additionally, you will support Group consolidations, liaise with auditors, and continuously seek ways to improve financial processes and reporting to enhance decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP, and other relevant accounting standardsPrepare monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely reportingLead on month-end tasks, including journals, reconciliations, and variance analysisSupport external and internal audits, acting as a key point of contactAssist with VAT and Corporation Tax returns, working with external advisors where neededImprove financial reporting processes, ensuring they provide meaningful insightsConduct detailed transaction reviews and prepare ad-hoc reports for stakeholders

What We're Looking For:
