Our client, a dynamic SME based in Birmingham, is seeking a Financial Accountant to take ownership of financial accounting processes, ensure the accuracy of the company's general ledger, and deliver insightful financial information. Key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:

Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial records through reconciliation and financial accounting activities.
Prepare timely and robust financial statements and reports to support strategic decision-making.
Oversee the preparation of VAT returns and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Support the production of subsidiary accounts and contribute to year-end statutory reporting.
Mentor and coach junior members of the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline processes and drive operational efficiency.
Contribute to ongoing improvements in financial controls and reporting frameworks.
Ensure all financial processes are documented and kept up to date.

About you:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong background in financial accounting and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You should have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
