Stanton House is currently supporting a PE backed business in Birmingham with the search for a Tax Consultant. 3 days on site, 2 from home - this contract will run for 3-6 months and fall outside IR35.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with all internal and external tax-related financial reporting requirements. Both Corporation Tax and VAT is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations in financial reporting. Prepare and review tax disclosures for management

Statutory Accounts Preparation: Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring they comply with relevant regulatory and reporting standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and verify all tax-related financial data for inclusion in statutory accounts.

Audit Support: Act as a key point of contact for tax-related inquiries during external audits. Address and resolve audit queries efficiently to meet reporting deadlines.

Tax Risk Management: Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations that could impact financial reporting. Provide guidance to the Financial Reporting team on tax-related matters and ensure alignment with corporate policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional accounting or tax qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CTA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in tax compliance and financial reporting, preferably within a mid-size organisation as this is a 'hands on' position.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations, statutory accounts preparation, and financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
