Your new companyWorking with an organisation who regulate auditors, accountants and actuaries.Promoting transparency and integrity in business, their work is aimed at investors and others who rely on company reports, audit and high-quality risk management. Your new roleTo conduct audit file reviews and inspections of firm-wide procedures at big four, mid-tier, international and/or public sector firms (with the majority of time typically being spent reviewing FTSE 350 audits at the big 4 firms). To lead/ participate in other projects as required.What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified accountant, ICAEW Business Finance Professional and/or relevant IT or IT audit professional qualification. Experience at a senior manager level or above in the audit profession in the IT audits of listed and other public interest entities and /or experience in the scoping, development and use of IT data analytic tools in an audit context.
  • You will have strong technical auditing skills.
  • With the ability to understand and assess significant volumes of information quickly and through this identify aspects of potential audit quality concern.
  • You will have the ability to challenge the judgments and quality of work performed by engagement partners and other members of the audit teams whose audits are subject to review.
  • Engage effectively with:
  • Inspection leaders/senior inspectors for firms to which allocated (internal)
  • Staff working on the same inspection team (internal)
  • Audit firms' central compliance teams (external)
  • Audit committee chairs (external)
  • AQR Technical & Quality Control (internal)
  • Review audit files and aspects of firm-wide policies and procedures thoroughly and in accordance with AQR methodology
  • IT audit inspectors work in collaboration with audit inspectors, leading the IT-related aspects of audit file reviews across a range of market sectors with complex business processes.
  • Challenge audit teams, as appropriate, on key audit judgments.
  • Take a significant role in (and lead on occasions) meetings with audit engagement partners, IT audit partners, other members of the audit team (some of whom will be other partners) and the firm's compliance teams.
