The Management Accountant is crucial to maintaining the organisation's financial well-being by delivering precise and timely financial data, analysis, and insights. This role involves collaborating with different departments to create budgets, assess financial performance, and aid in strategic decision-making. Additionally, the Management Accountant will oversee cost management, track financial risks, and enhance financial procedures to ensure efficiency

Duties will include:

  • Financial Reporting:- Prepare and present internal financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data reported to management.- Conduct monthly and quarterly financial reviews to assess financial performance against targets.
  • Cost Variance Analysis:- Analyse costs related to operations and projects to identify cost-saving opportunities.- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs to budgeted figures and provide recommendations for cost control.- Support pricing strategies by analysing cost structures and profitability margins.
  • Performance Management:- Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of various business units.- Work with department heads to improve financial performance and achieve budgetary goals.- Provide financial insights to support decision-making and performance improvements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:- Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts, adjusting for changes in business conditions.- Monitor budget variances, providing explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Team Leadership and Development: - Lead and mentor the finance team, in a culture of continuous learning and professional development. - Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members. - Ensure the finance team is equipped with the necessary tools, skills, and resource to perform their duties effectively.
  • Risk Management and Compliance:- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and analysis.
  • Process Improvement:- Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.- Support the implementation and management of financial software and tools.
  • Management and completion of the year end audit
  • To ensure that all significant disputes are brought to the attention of the Financial Controller

Experience required:

  • Professional qualifications such as CIMA, or ACCA are preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in management accounting or a related role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Oracle/Netsuite) and advanced Excel skills for financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • High level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of the business environment and how financial management supports strategic goals.
