Service Charge Accountant

We are currently looking for an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join a leading property management company in a dynamic and exciting role. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of service charge accounting for a designated portfolio.
• Support the preparation of service charge budgets, analyse monthly and year-end expenditure, and ensure costs are in line with RICS guidance.
• Produce, reconcile, and close year-end service charges, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors, internal teams, and property management colleagues to provide necessary information.
• Handle utility recharge journal postings and direct recoverable reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, RICS standards, and statutory time lines.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Experience in a similar service charge accounting role.
• Excellent understanding of service charge reconciliation, budgeting, and RICS guidelines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage at various levels, including with clients, auditors, and colleagues.
• Proactive, able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
