They are seeking a Service Charge Accountant to manage service charge accounting for both residential and commercial properties. In this role, you will be responsible for budgeting, reconciliations, and financial reporting, ensuring all practices comply with current regulations. You will also mentor junior team members and contribute to refining financial strategies, making your impact felt across the business.This role comes with an annual salary of up to £40,000.00Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee service charge accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Conduct thorough reconciliations of accounts, verifying compliance with standards and policies.
- Generate and review detailed service charge statements and financial reports for property owners.
- Present financial insights to stakeholders and provide expert guidance on service charge issues.
- Manage the end-to-end service charge audit process and coordinate with auditors effectively.
- Offer technical support and mentorship to the accounting team on complex service charge matters.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and emerging trends in property management accounting.
Candidate Experience, Skills and Attributes:
- Proven experience in service charge accounting and property finance management.
- Understanding of service charge legislation and financial reporting practices.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with property management accounting software.
- Excellent organisational abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, capable of simplifying complex financial information for various audiences.
- Experience in process improvement and strategic financial planning.
- Professional accounting qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) are required, or equivalent practical experience (QBE).
