Main Duties:
As an Accounts Assistant, your main duties include:
- Processing supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Preparation and process of payment runs.
- Reconciliation of supplier statements, resolving any discrepancies.
- Monitoring customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
- Conducting credit checks on new customers and setting appropriate credit limits.
- Chasing overdue invoices via phone, email, and letters.
- Negotiating payment plans and terms with customers when necessary.
- Preparation of regular reports on aged debtors and credit control activities.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
- Other ad hoc tasks as required.

The role is based in Birmingham City Centre with great transport links.
