Overview

An established and exciting organisation has recently approached Mitchell Adam to help them with their search for a talented Assistant Accountant. This organisation in Birmingham City Centre are hoping to recruit an individual with experience working in a fast paced accounts department, with exposure to posting journals and working on the balance sheet. The organisation are looking to bring on an individual with ambitions to become chartered and as a result they offer a tremendous study support package. They understand the importance of having flexibility and provide the chance to work in a hybrid working style.

As an Assistant Accountant you will get the chance to work directly with the Finance Manager and a small team of Management Accountants who will be on hand to help ensure you are developing at a healthy rate in this position. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be posting journals such as accruals and prepayments and completing reconciliation's and reports on the balance sheet. Your Microsoft Excel skills will be tested and honed in this role as you will be producing comprehensive reports on a regular basis. There are some brilliant avenues to progress in this role, where you could develop into an Assistant Management Accountant and beyond.

Skills Required

  • To have experience posting journals such as accruals and prepayments and working on the balance sheet.
  • To be confident and outgoing, this organisation are looking for an individual with strong communication skills as interacting with various stakeholders is a crucial part of this role.
  • To have experience completing reconciliations on the bank and processing invoices and to either have an accounting related university degree, or to be currently studying your ACCA or CIMA qualifications.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritise, as this role has a variety of responsibilities.
