Mitchell Adam are excited to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant role based in Birmingham city centre. Our client is a booming professional services business that is looking to add a brand-new member to their finance team. You will be assisting the Senior Accountants in completing their day-to-day duties, as well as completing independent ad hoc tasks. Full training will be provided where necessary, with the more senior members of the team being there to guide you along the way.

Your typical duties will consist of: accruals, prepayments, reports and analysis. As this is a client facing role you will also need to have good social skills, with the proven ability to forge strong relationships with key stakeholders. You will also need to be a confident speaker who is comfortable presenting in front of various stakeholders as this will be something you will be heavily involved in.

The successful candidate will be a professional yet outgoing individual. You will need to be organised and able to complete work to tight deadlines due to the fast pace of the business. The ideal candidate will have the ability to remain professional whilst remaining personable enough to build strong stakeholder relationships.

What you'll need:

To be actively working towards your professional qualification, either CIMA or ACCA.
To have the ability to work independently but also function as part of a team, this is due to the varied nature of the role.
To enjoy working with financial systems, having the drive to initiate process improvement wherever possible.
Previous experience working in a client facing role, stakeholders are at the heart of this business so it is vital you are able to keep these relationships positive.
