Bell Cornwall Recruitment are pleased to be hiring for an AML & Conflicts Assistant - 6 month FTC for a fantastic business in Birmingham. The company specialises in law and have offices all over the world. They are looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running and join their ever growing team.

The Candidates responsibilities:

  • Analysing proposed matters, matter files and ensuring SRA rules are applied correctly.
  • Completing checks and searches on conflict and confidentiality.
  • Identifying where conflict issues may arise and an concerns regarding them.
  • Analysing and examining any complex information and ensuring feedback is given to the corresponding fee earners and partners.
  • Carrying out Due Diligence and AML (Anti Money Laundering) checks for all kinds of individuals or corporates e.g. trusts, partnerships, foundations and general individuals.
  • Applying protocols where necessary to cross jurisdictional conflicts.
  • Navigating systems that fall outside of the UK.
  • General admin that would relate to the role.

Skills Needed:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is necessary ( a minimum of 2/3 years)
  • Knowledge of SRA rules is essential.
  • Someone from a legal background, financial services, banking or processional services would be ideal.
  • Confidence in identifying any issues with the ability to resolve them effectively and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, general IT and email/internet knowledge is necessary.
  • Be confident when it comes to decision making and taking on any queries.
